Hayao Miyazaki has touched millions of lives around the world with the beautiful films he made over years at Studio Ghibli with Isao Takahata. Movies like My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away have inspired people to create their own artwork but nothing comes closer to the work of Louise Terrier, French artist, painter, and sculptor.

While her work celebrates some of the anime’s most memorable heroes, she adds her own creative flair to it, which is magical and clearly reflects glimpses of French art scene.

Based in the alpine town of Annecy in the southeaster France, she confesses on her Facebook page, “When people ask me: where does that creative energy come from? I would say I don’t know! But it’s just a part of me, like my nose in the middle of my face! Even though my studies take the most part of my time, the pleasure to paint never leaves me.”

If you’re also a Miyazaki fan, you’ll instantly recognize the inspiration in the work of Louise compiled below. Share your thoughts in comments and show your love by voting for your favorite.
